Making global supply chains digital and therefore more transparent, predictable and trustworthy – osapiens (osapiens Services GmbH) has now been nominated for the German Start-up Award 2022 in the ‘Rising Star’ category for this mission and its software, which uses AI to evaluate and automate supply chains for the manufacturing industry.

In the competition to be nominated for the prestigious award, the young B2B software company from Mannheim was able to prevail against around 100 competitors. The experts on the selection panel were particularly impressed by osapiens’ innovative ‘osapiens HUB’, a cloud-based technology platform that provides various software applications for completely digital and sustainable supply chains.

“Our software provides companies with data-based, relevant knowledge about all processes along their operational value chain, in the context of planning, production, sales and after market,” explains Alberto Zamora, CEO and one of the three founders of osapiens. “This enables risks to be identified promptly and, for example, a faster response to impending supply bottlenecks, counterfeit products, smuggling or piracy.”

Last but not least, osapiens software also supports companies in complying with national and international laws that are intended to improve the global human rights situation, strengthen environmental protection and make globalization more social with a view to the UN sustainability goals of Agenda 2030. In Germany, for example, the Supply Chain Duty of Care Act (LkSG) will come into force in January 2023, which will initially oblige companies with more than 3,000 employees and from January 2024 with more than 1,000 employees to carefully analyze and monitor their entire supply chain processes.

“For us, this nomination is recognition of the last four years. We are absolutely overwhelmed,” adds Stefan Wawrzinek, COO and founder of osapiens. “Just to be among the finalists is a fantastic accolade for our work and especially for our team. It clearly shows the ever-increasing role that transparency plays in the supply chain and how important it is to support globally active companies with the right solutions. Our software not only gives companies a clear competitive advantage, but also supports them in actively combating human rights violations and environmental pollution.”

The German Founder Award is presented annually by the partners stern, Sparkasse, ZDF and Porsche in the categories ‘Student’, ‘Startup’, ‘Rising Star’ and ‘Lifetime Achievement’ and thus honors outstanding entrepreneurial achievements in different phases of a company. The German Start-up Award is also supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection, renowned sponsors, a high-caliber board of trustees and an extensive network of experts. It is one of the most prestigious awards in Germany and is being presented for the 20th time this year. This year’s winners will be announced at a festive event in Berlin on September 13.
