About Me
Martin Fischer has been Head of Legal EMEA and Compliance Coordinator EMEA at Celanese since 2010. From 2015 to 2020, he worked for Celanese in Amsterdam/Netherlands before moving back to Frankfurt/Germany.
Another focus of his activities are the topics of sustainability and ESG transformation. He represents Celanese in the legal committee of the VCI (German Chemical Industry Association) and at European level at CEFIC.
Before joining Celanese in 2010, he worked for five years as General Counsel EMEA for two business units for Honeywell, based in Lausanne/Switzerland.
Prior to that, he worked as an Associate at Clifford Chance and as Counsel (Local Partner) at Willkie Farr & Gallagher in Frankfurt. He started his professional career with a management trainee programme for young executives at Deutsche Telekom AG (Berlin/Bonn) and subsequently worked as a lawyer for contract management and regulation for licensed service providers and carriers at the headquarters of Deutsche Telekom AG in Bonn.
He studied law in Freiburg, Berlin and Constance and obtained his doctorate at the University of Constance. During his studies, he worked as an assistant to the Vice President of the Franco-German television channel ARTE in Strasbourg and at the German Embassy in Caracas/Venezuela.
He has also been involved in the ethical leadership programme FASPE (Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Studies of Professional Ethics) on a voluntary basis for over 10 years and serves as a board member.
