Munich-based firm provides growth capital to European tech companies with fast-growing and sustainable business models

osapiens develops SaaS solutions for supply chain transparency and sustainable corporate governance

The Mannheim-based software company osapiens today announces its first financing round of 25 million euros from Armira Growth, part of the Munich-based investment holding Armira. Armira Growth acquires a minority stake and offers osapiens the opportunity to continue its growth and turn the scale-up, founded in 2018 by software specialists Alberto Zamora, Stefan Wawrzinek and Matthias Jungblut, into a global tech champion.

osapiens is a pioneer in the development of automated solutions to create transparency and sustainability in global supply chains. The focus and central growth driver of the software specialists is the cloud technology platform “osapiens HUB”, which helps companies to create corporate sustainability and thus grow.

“We support companies in growing sustainably – not just in the EU, but worldwide”, said Alberto Zamora, Co-Founder and CEO of osapiens. “The ability to map all processes along the value chain that are relevant to corporate sustainability on one platform with the help of software is essential for this. In view of increasing requirements due to national legislation and current EU directives, this means that in future we will have to develop and operate 20, 30, perhaps 100 solutions in parallel on the osapiens HUB. On the way there, we see Armira as a long-term partner at eye level who understands our mission. This is just the beginning of a very long journey and we are dreaming and planning big.”

Over 200 employees from more than 40 nations operate the osapiens HUB from Mannheim and four other locations and already support over 1,000 customers. osapiens is rapidly becoming the global market leader. It covers various ESG aspects such as the German Supply Chain Act (LkSG), the Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD), the Whistleblower Protection Act, regulations on product traceability (Track & Trace), maintenance management and many other use cases.

“We were very impressed by osapiens’ technological expertise in the supply chain from the very first second. We are very pleased to accompany Alberto and the entire team on their way to becoming a European Tech Champion and thus support the implementation of ESG goals of companies”, said Florian Tappeiner, Managing Partner, Armira Growth.

Particularly in light of the impending flood of new regulations on due diligence and sustainability reporting obligations, such as the LkSG and the upcoming European directives on these topics (including the CSRD and CSDDD), many companies are currently becoming aware of the additional work involved in sustainability reporting as a result of the upcoming regulation, but also of the opportunities that arise for responsible growth.

Compliance with sustainability standards and the obligation to provide significantly more transparency are therefore becoming a key challenge for companies. What is needed are tools that support the implementation of these complex requirements.

Both partners are convinced that the future viability of companies will be increasingly determined by how they approach and implement the topics of resilience, operational excellence and corporate sustainability in their supply chains. Corporate sustainability will increasingly become the focus of all corporate activities. osapiens supports companies in becoming more sustainable, transparent and trustworthy in order to grow for the future.
