dm, Markant, Müller, netto – German retailers rely on software company from Mannheim for the digital implementation of the German Supply Chain Act (LkSG)

  • Focus on legal compliance, data security and full automation
  • More transparency, predictability and trust in global supply chains

Leading major companies in the German retail sector are now working with osapiens, a software company from Mannheim, to implement the German Supply Chain Act. In addition to the drugstore group dm and ZHG – Zentrale Handelsgesellschaft, the private label producer of the Markant Group, the wholesale company Müller and the discount giant Netto Deutschland Salling Group (Netto ApS & Co. KG) will in future implement the requirements of the Supply Chain Act with the software solution from osapiens.

The companies are among the largest retailers in Europe, are integrated into global procurement and sales markets and work with countless suppliers worldwide – an enormous challenge in view of the range of services to be provided under the Supply Chain Act.

The aim of the cooperation is therefore to support wholesalers with fully digitalized, legally compliant, sustainable and secure supply chain management that ensures compliance with human rights and environmental protection within global supply chains.

Compliance with human rights in the value chain is very important to us. After all, our decisions have an impact on the conditions under which people work. In osapiens, we have found a partner who understands the complexity of the current challenges and can support us with the latest technology in a legally compliant and, above all, agile manner. This enables us to further increase the transparency of the entire supply chain, pursue our sustainability goals even more effectively and become effective for the people on the ground.Inga Haubold, Head of Sustainability at dm-drogerie markt GmbH & Co. KG.

With ‘osapiens HUB – supplier os’ , osapiens offers a software solution that enables companies to monitor and classify their suppliers in a fully automated and legally compliant manner in accordance with the requirements of the LkSG. This provides companies with data-based, relevant knowledge of all processes along their global supply chains. The core modules of the software include an automated risk analysis based on master and transaction data from suppliers, a screening of the organizational structure and financial situation of suppliers, as well as functionalities for monitoring social media through AI-supported information screening in the respective production countries.

We are currently talking to many companies that are facing the challenges of the LkSG. We therefore know how important it is to support them with suitable solutions. With regard to the LkSG, this is of course about creating legal certainty for companies, but also about safeguarding business interests and identifying risks in the supply chain at an early stage – for example, if there is a threat of supply bottlenecks that could jeopardize production. We can provide retailers with comprehensive advice in this area and support them in implementing the LkSG list of obligations.Alberto Zamora, CEO & Co-Founder, osapiens

In addition, osapiens HUB – supplier os enables legally compliant whistleblower management and shows possible actions in the context of preventive and remedial measures to prevent human rights violations or breaches of existing environmental protection guidelines. Last but not least, the software offers legally required LkSG reporting with KPIs and dashboards for annual reports or audits.

Each of the partners first receives comprehensive onboarding, which precisely analyzes the requirements and individual needs of the respective user and adapts them to the range of services offered by the osapiens software. Implementation then begins so that the companies not only meet the requirements of the LkSG as quickly as possible, but can also fully benefit from the numerous functionalities of the software.
