Who must comply
All companies (initially non-SMEs) that import, trade or export the following products to/from the EU: soy, palm oil, timber, coffee, cocoa, cattle, rubber and derived products.
- The regulation applies universally, regardless of the company’s origin, covering both legal and illegal deforestation practices.
- Companies must prove that their products do not originate from recently deforested areas.
- A due diligence statement for all traded products is mandatory.
