EUDR Compliance Essentials

  • Data Collection: Collect and document relevant data, including geolocation coordinates to ensure that goods do not come from deforested areas
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments using verified geolocation data and effectively analyze potential risks
  • Compliance Deadline:Companies must comply with the EUDR by December 30, 2024, requiring immediate preparation

Who must comply

All companies (initially non-SMEs) that import, trade or export the following products to/from the EU: soy, palm oil, timber, coffee, cocoa, cattle, rubber and derived products.

  • The regulation applies universally, regardless of the company’s origin, covering both legal and illegal deforestation practices.
  • Companies must prove that their products do not originate from recently deforested areas.
  • A due diligence statement for all traded products is mandatory.
