About Me

Nicola Brandt is head of the OECD Berlin Centre since October 2019. Her team works in close cooperation with policy makers, academics, business associations and civil society organizations and puts OECD data and policy recommendations as well as international best practices in context with regard to current policy projects, scientific analyses and practical experience from German-speaking countries in order to enrich the public debate on the basis of facts and well-founded analyses. Trained as an economist, Nicola has advised governments for many years on the strategic direction and design of their economic and financial policies. Among others, she was responsible for the OECD Economic Surveys for Mexico, Chile, France and Poland. Her work focused on digitalisation and sustainability, globalisation, tax and social policy, education as well as labour market and innovation policy. From 2005 to 2009, she worked at the Federal Ministry of Finance in Berlin on the preparation of G7 and G20 finance ministers’ meetings. She began her career as a young professional at the OECD.
