Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 on deforestation-free products (EUDR) sets clear obligations across the supply chain — and importers carry the heaviest share. Traceability down to the plot of origin, geolocation with precise coordinates, documented risk assessment and a Due Diligence Statement (DDS) for every batch placed on the EU market are now non-negotiable. For MC Sonae’s supplier network — including small and medium companies, and with a particular focus on importers — this means leaving behind scattered emails and spreadsheets and adopting a structured, auditable process tied to each purchase order. Without a valid DDS linked to verifiable coordinates, goods cannot enter the EU, with direct operational, commercial and reputational consequences.
Straight to the point. In this session we’ll cover the two areas that matter most: Supplier Onboarding and DDS Management. Live in the Supplier Portal, we’ll walk through how to complete the supplier evaluation and risk mitigation assessment, how to upload geolocation and plot information, how to manage users, and how to respond to a specific MC purchase order — including how to handle non-relevant articles and justifications, and how case management works end to end. We’ll also share practical recommendations to keep the process resilient when responsible staff change roles.
