From 30 December 2025, companies will need to prove that their products come from deforestation-free sources under the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). This applies to commodities like coffee, cocoa, soy, palm oil, wood, beef, and rubber, as well as many related products. Businesses must systematically track and document product origins, geocoordinates, risk assessments, and supplier declarations.
To support businesses in meeting these obligations, osapiens and IFS – International Featured Standards have partnered to create a new self-assessment within the IFS Deforestation Check. This digital solution allows companies to systematically review their processes, gather the required evidence, and implement EUDR requirements efficiently.
The self-assessment, based on a checklist developed by IFS, is available in the osapiens HUB for EUDR as a digital supplier questionnaire. It allows companies to systematically analyze their supply chains, request necessary documentation, and ensure their processes comply with legal requirements in a timely manner.
The self-assessment is designed both for companies required to submit a due diligence statement under the EUDR and for their suppliers and business partners, who are responsible for providing relevant data and documentation. An integrated scoring system performs automated risk analysis and generates actionable reports with recommendations for the next steps.
“The EUDR is putting increasing pressure on companies to make their supply chains fully transparent,” says Stephan Tromp, Managing Director of IFS. “This self-assessment provides a clear framework to identify risks and reliably provide evidence. Combined with osapiens’ technology, it offers a strong, practical approach.”
“Companies are now seeking pragmatic ways to meet regulatory requirements,” says Alberto Zamora, CEO and Co-Founder of osapiens. “By combining IFS standardization with digital automation through the osapiens HUB, businesses can comply with the EUDR quickly, transparently, and in full compliance.”
IFS brings decades of experience in developing internationally recognized product quality and safety standards. The organization collaborates globally with traders, manufacturers, and certification bodies, offering standards, programs, and services that help companies continuously improve.
osapiens delivers the leading software solution for implementing the Deforestation Regulation. The osapiens HUB for EUDR automates the integration of all relevant data – from mobile supplier data collection and satellite imagery to AI-powered risk analysis.
osapiens and IFS are hosting an international webinar series to mark the launch of the IFS Deforestation Check. The webinars will provide practical guidance on how companies can efficiently meet the new requirements.
Participants will gain insights into the strategic collaboration between IFS and osapiens, explore the functionality and benefits of the self-assessment, and see how the osapiens HUB for EUDR enables fast, automated compliance. Each session will also feature a live Q&A with experts from both organizations.
