igefa, one of Germany’s leading wholesalers, has chosen osapiens’ software solutions to automate supplier data exchange and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, particularly the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

With more than 3,000 employees and a portfolio of over 300,000 products, igefa is a full-service provider for essential sectors such as healthcare, industry, facility services, skilled crafts, transportation, foodservice, and the public sector. The company has long pursued the goal of taking ecological and social responsibility across its entire value chain.

Implementing the EUDR with osapiens

As part of this commitment, igefa is proactively addressing increasing regulatory demands at the European level, in particular the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). Starting December 30, 2025, companies operating in the EU will be required under this regulation to ensure that their supply chains do not contribute to global deforestation. The regulation focuses on raw materials such as wood, rubber, and palm oil, along with a wide range of derived products, including paper goods, pulp, packaging, hygiene products, and cleaning and care supplies.

The EUDR imposes complex requirements on companies, particularly around data management: businesses must systematically collect, verify, and document origin data, geolocation coordinates, risk assessments, and supplier reviews. To address these challenges efficiently, igefa has adopted the osapiens HUB for EUDR. This cloud-based software solution supports the automated integration of all relevant data—from mobile data collection at the supplier level to the use of satellite imagery and AI-powered risk analysis. It also enables direct submission of the required Due Diligence Statements to the EU information system. The entire process is digitally integrated, providing igefa with a reliable and scalable framework to ensure EUDR compliance.

“As one of Germany’s leading wholesalers, we carry a particular responsibility to ensure transparency and sustainability in procurement. With the osapiens HUB, we’ve chosen a solution that allows us to streamline our supply chains in a compliant, data-driven, and future-proof way—digitally, securely, and with minimal manual effort,” says Stefan Franke, EUDR Project Manager – Strategy and Transformation at igefa.

Practical insights: igefa and osapiens launch joint webinar series

To support other companies in implementing the EUDR, igefa and osapiens are launching a joint webinar series. These sessions offer a concise overview of the key EUDR requirements, with a particular focus on the healthcare and hygiene sectors. Using practical examples, the webinars will show how companies can digitize their supply chains and meet regulatory obligations efficiently and with a high degree of automation.
