Neumann Kaffee Gruppe (NKG), the world’s largest green coffee trader, has chosen the osapiens solution to implement the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

The EUDR requires European companies to ensure that their supply chain is deforestation free. The regulation focuses not only on coffee, but also on commodities such as cocoa, palm oil, soy, rubber, timber and cattle, as well as a variety of derived products. Affected companies must comply by December 30, 2024. The EUDR’s extensive requirements necessitate the collection, processing and preparation of vast amounts of data.

NKG operates in 27 countries with more than 60 companies in the areas of export & mills, import, farms, agents & branches, and services. To comply with the regulation, the company has chosen the osapiens HUB for EUDR.

osapiens develops Software-as-a-Service solutions that help companies comply with ESG requirements such as the EUDR quickly, automatically and securely. The osapiens HUB for EUDR is an end-to-end solution that enables NKG to achieve EUDR compliance with maximum automation: The software facilitates data collection and transmission via a mobile application and a supplier platform. It integrates satellite data analysis and internal product tracking, performs AI-based risk analysis, and enables direct upload of the Due Diligence Statement to the EU information portal. The entire process is monitored and automated to ensure that all regulatory requirements are met.

Our partnership with osapiens is an investment to enhance NKG’s supply chain management and facilitate regulatory compliance and sustainability management, beyond the immediate needs for EUDR. Based in harmonized data and processes across our group, we will enhance value creation for our partners and strengthen our position as a leading green coffee service provider“, said Ruben Scholz, Group COO of Neumann Kaffee Gruppe.

The EUDR is an important step for global forest protection, but it also presents companies with major challenges. As one of the world’s largest green coffee traders, automated and holistic integration into business processes is essential for Neumann Kaffee Gruppe in order to seamlessly connect all relevant stakeholders and minimize additional effort. We are proud that NKG has opted for the osapiens HUB and are very pleased about the cooperation,” says Matthias Jungblut, CPO of osapiens.
