EUDR in Plain Language: What You Need to Know

The EUDR covers 7 major commodities - cattle, cocoa, coffee, palm oil, rubber, soy, and wood - plus a long list of products made from them (Annex 1).
That means everyday goods like chocolate, coffee, beef, and furniture can all fall under EUDR.
Not every multi-ingredient food is covered, but classification matters - for example, chocolate (CN 1806) is in scope.
Every shipment requires a digital “Due Diligence Statement,” submitted automatically to the EU’s TRACES system. Companies can do this in bulk, via API, or (in some cases) re-use statements for repeat shipments.
