Sustainability osapiens Summit 2024: The leading event for corporate sustainability in Europe

On September 11 and 12, 2024, osapiens hosted the Sustainability osapiens Summit (SoS.24), the leading event for corporate sustainability in Europe. More than 1,500 participants from business, politics and the public gathered in Mannheim to discuss the latest developments and challenges in ESG regulation and sustainability. The main focus was on how companies can address the increasing demands for sustainability and efficiency while maintaining economic growth.  

High-level keynotes and engaging discussions 

SoS.24 was held under the patronage of Gerd Müller, Director-General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). The summit program featured numerous presentations and panel discussions with leading industry experts discussing compliance, sustainability regulation and supply chain transparency. More than 150 renowned speakers participated, including international representatives from UNIDO, OECD, EFRAG, KPMG, GS1, Fairtrade International, Goldman Sachs, Coca-Cola Hellenic, Graf von Westphalen and many other organizations. In his speech, the Lord Mayor of Mannheim, Christian Specht, emphasized that the Summit is an important contribution to positioning Mannheim as a leading city in the field of sustainability. 

Around 1,500 experts from various industries and regions participated in intensive discussions on sustainability, ESG regulations and tools at the Rosengarten in Mannheim. Attendees heard compelling presentations on compliance and sustainability regulations and challenges, and had the opportunity to network with decision-makers across industries. 

Interactive Summit Tracks 

A special highlight of SoS.24 were the interactive Summit Tracks, which explored the latest challenges and developments in ESG compliance. Participants were able to delve deep into the latest technologies and best practices. Topics included EU regulations such as CSRD, EUDR, CSDDD and CBAM, as well as corporate carbon footprint, product compliance, operational efficiency and track & trace. In addition, the latest developments related to the NIS-2 Cybersecurity Directive and the Digital Product Passport, which promotes transparency and traceability in supply chains, were presented. 

Key announcements and new partnerships   

The Sustainability osapiens Summit 2024 also served as a central platform for the presentation of key innovations and partnerships that will shape the future of ESG compliance and sustainability: 

  • Partnership with ERM: ERM, the world’s largest sustainability consulting firm, has entered into a strategic partnership with osapiens to help companies effectively leverage ESG data. This collaboration will help companies not only to report on sustainability, but also to actively embed it in their value chains. Read more here
  • Launch of ESG Peers: The summit also launched the ESG Peers platform, a global community of corporate sustainability leaders. The platform provides a space for networking, knowledge sharing and collaboration to collectively address ESG compliance challenges and develop solutions. Register here.
  • Additionally, osapiens presented the book “CSRD Implementation for Dummies,” a comprehensive guide to successfully implementing CSRD for companies. 

In addition to the expert content, SoS.24 offered numerous networking opportunities. At the summit party on the first day of the congress, attendees were able to make valuable contacts and deepen their newly gained insights.
