Regarding the EUDR, we currently feel well prepared for the future because we have a strong partner in osapiens to help us implement all the regulatory requirements. EGGER is one of the leading producers of wood-based panels. We now have 22 plants, mainly in Europe but also outside Europe. Sustainability is therefore at the core of our company because we produce wood-based products and are targeting net zero to achieve our goals. We welcome new regulations that promote greater accountability for environmental issues. It’s a really good thing for us that the EU has a regulation to ensure less deforestation, or ideally none, worldwide. However, this means we have to collect a large amount of data. We must ensure that all the necessary data and conformity checks are in place in our systems before we bring wood into our plant. Given the complexity of our processes, we knew we needed a partner or provider who could support us with these issues. To prepare ourselves, we are currently developing system-based solutions. Here, we are working with osapiens as a strong partner to achieve this more efficiently and reduce bureaucratic efforts. Setting up the HUB itself went smoothly, so we didn’t encounter any major issues. The connector to our SAP system was also installed quite easily. The main reason we chose osapiens for our EUDR software is that they have a supplier portal where suppliers can enter all the necessary information free of charge. The biggest advantage for us is automation. We benefit from the background data and the connection to the EU portal. Currently, we have a company-wide project to calculate our product footprint. In the future, we will have a lot more data, so we will need to process it. This is something we will probably require in the future as well. It feels good to work with osapiens. They listen to our topics, problems and needs, and if possible, they fulfil them and create solutions for us.
