  • Acquisition extends osapiens platform with a specialized solution for the assessment and documentation of carbon credits
  • Companies can implement carbon offsetting and insetting strategies and communicate them credibly

osapiens, a leading German software provider for sustainability and transparency solutions, integrates the ClimateGrid Impact Manager of the German startup ClimateGrid into the osapiens HUB. ClimateGrid’s software solution supports companies in transparently assessing climate and environmental protection projects, as well as carbon credits, and in documenting them in a manner that is sound from a regulatory perspective. It also helps companies credibly represent these projects to the outside world. With this integration, osapiens is expanding its platform, the osapiens HUB, with a central solution for the voluntary carbon market (VCM).

More trust in CO₂ certificates

While demand for high-quality carbon removal certificates is rising, fragmented registries, inconsistent standards, and increasing regulatory requirements make well-founded decisions and reliable statements toward customers, investors, and authorities more difficult.

The ClimateGrid Impact Manager addresses precisely this challenge. It enables a structured assessment of climate and environmental protection projects, traceable impact analyses, and robust regulatory documentation. Interactive dashboards provide transparency regarding project quality, certifications, and climate impact. At the same time, the solution consolidates all relevant evidence for governance, reporting, and substantiating environmental claims.

ClimateGrid was developed by an interdisciplinary team of carbon management specialists, software developers, and lawyers. The software is based on this combination of market understanding, technological competence, and regulatory expertise.

Integration into the osapiens HUB

Within the osapiens HUB, the ClimateGrid Impact Manager primarily strengthens the two solution areas Carbon Management and Environmental Intelligence. On the platform, primary data can not only be collected and used to calculate CO₂ footprints; companies also derive concrete strategies and measures for emissions reduction from it and implement them. Through the Environmental Intelligence Suite, companies can verify these measures and their implementation within their supply chains, creating credibility and transparency.

Frieder Schütz, formerly Head of Business Development at ClimateGrid, is leading the integration of the ClimateGrid Impact Manager into the osapiens HUB. At osapiens, he will take on the newly created position of Decarbonization Lead.

“Pure carbon accounting is no longer enough. What matters is that companies reduce emissions where they arise: in their own value chain. That is exactly where we come in. We transform data into concrete reduction measures through insetting projects with suppliers. Companies offset what cannot be avoided in a targeted manner through verified offsetting projects. This transforms climate action from an accounting entry into a robust strategy,” says Matthias Jungblut, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of osapiens.

“We developed the ClimateGrid Impact Manager out of the conviction that the voluntary CO₂ market needs more transparency, comparability, and trust. In osapiens, we have found the ideal partner to scale the solution and support companies worldwide in developing credible carbon credit strategies,” says Theo Schütz, Co-Founder of ClimateGrid.
