When one missing event breaks the chain

A recall hits. An authority asks you for origin data. A retailer wants proof for one specific lot. You need an instant answer, but the evidence sits across suppliers, processors, packers and logistics providers, in different systems and formats. With every split, merge or transformation making the chain harder to reconstruct.

osapiens ftrace turns those individual events into one queryable chain of custody. Partners capture each step once; the solution links parent and child lots in real time, validates and enriches the data, flags gaps and controls what retailers, authorities and consumers can see.

How it works

From scattered events to one continuous chain of custody

Step 1

Capture every event

Bring in harvest, catch, slaughter, transformation, shipping and receiving events from every tier. Connect suppliers, processors, packers and logistics partners via REST, JSON, EPCIS XML or XLSX, alongside ERP and master-data feeds, partner portals and the osapiens Data Network.

Step 2

Link every lot as it moves

Lots are split, merged, transformed and repacked. The chaining worker links parent and child lots as events arrive, so aggregation and disaggregation become part of the chain automatically. The result is one continuous, queryable event history from source to scan.

Step 3

Enrich and close the gaps

Smart workflows validate incoming events, normalize data and check whether required information is complete. Missing or inconsistent evidence is flagged before it creates a break in the chain. Certificates, vessel and gear disclosures or plot-level origin data from photos and PDFs all become part of the traceability record instead of remaining trapped in documents.

Step 4

Query exactly what you need

Start with a lot and retrieve the full chain or limit the query to origin only. Filter by date and depth to investigate one specific question without working through the entire supply chain. Explore traceability data in the portal or make chain queries available to other systems through the API.

Step 5

Disclose to the right audience

Share verified data by product and by permission. Give retailers the operational data they need, authorities access through B2A flows and consumers selected information through a B2C QR code. One chain powers every disclosure without exposing the entire chain to everyone.
